Planting Bluebonnets

Spring time in Texas is so pretty. Flowers everywhere are blooming in the most random of spots. Its not uncommon to see people pulled over on the side of the road taking picture in the bluebonnets.

I went this weekend with my firend to a field near by to take pictures of our dogs.

Last night as I was looking at the pictures I thought it would be nice if I had some bluebonnets in my yard. They are wild flowers and wouldn’t need much looking after so I bought some seeds to throw in next to some wild flowers my son planted last year.

Then I thought that it would be nice if bluebonnets grew in the field in from of my house. The whole street would be able to enjoy them then. So I bought about 500 seeds to throw in the field and hope that they grow.

I have plans to throw them out after it rains. The packet says their grow season is March - May so I have some time to wait for better weather. I’ll keep updating when I do plant them and if they start growing.

In the meantime check out my reel of me planting them in the front yard.
